Mission and History

Mission

Escuela de Guadalupe is a community-based, financially accessible school of excellence that develops compassionate leaders for the world of tomorrow.  It focuses on providing a quality dual-language education, rooted in Catholic values.

History

The concept for this unique school began in discussions between Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, the Jesuits, the Sisters of Loretto and local community members. Realizing the need for quality education options, they set out to create a school that would be built around the culture and economic realities of the families it would serve. The committee researched successful schools across the country, leading them to create a unique Catholic and dual-language program focused on academic excellence. The school opened its doors in September 1999.

In the summer of 2015, Escuela de Guadalupe will move to a new location in a larger building, enabling it to serve more children. Just four miles southwest of its current campus, this neighborhood is centrally located, across the street from Presentation of Our Lady parish, and perfectly suited to Escuela’s mission. With nearly double the facility space, Escuela will embark on an expansion program that will eventually nearly double the number of students served. The expansion will occur by adding pre-kindergarten and three middle school grades, enabling us to maintain our valued low ratios and small-school feel.  For more information, click here.
