Escuela de Guadalupe is a private, Catholic dual-language school in the heart of Northwest Denver.  Our school was founded by this culturally rich community to provide an affordable option for quality private education.  At Escuela de Guadalupe, the spiritual, culturally relevant and caring environment supports the healthy development of each child while we are able to achieve high academic expectations through thematic instruction, articulated strategy instruction and an intellectually rigorous curriculum.   In addition, all children at Escuela de Guadalupe are committed to full academic bi-literacy across all content areas.

Personal Characteristics:

  • Support the cultural, spiritual and academic goals of the school by modeling compassion, love and care for the children at all times.

  • Have the patience and positive attitude to be sure that every student has an academically rich experience and fully develops their cognitive and language abilities.

  • Contribute to an environment of enthusiasm and dedication.

  • Truly believe that every child, without exception, can excel.

Responsibilities:

Working at Escuela de Guadalupe includes many different responsibilities to make a small, non-tuition driven school run effectively.  Much like a big family, we all pitch in to make this a great place to work and learn.  Therefore, this description is not intended to be all-inclusive as much as it is to help define what some of the major responsibilities will be.  These are:

Fully implement the components of dual-language instruction for academic excellence

  • Design physical education lessons that integrate wellness, exercise, individual/group physical activities and teamwork for students in grades K-5 that support the physical education curriculum at Escuela de Guadalupe.

  • Emphasize positive problem solving and cooperation in every sports activity.

  • Organize school-wide events to promote community and unity to include the annual field day in June.

  • Promote a variety of types of activities that promote the developmental needs of elementary age children related to motor coordination and social interaction.

  • Careful planning and delivery of lessons in learning environments that are clearly and firmly defined by language of instruction (all English or all Spanish) and that incorporate diverse perspectives United States, Mexico and other cultures around the world.

  • Collaboration and planning with literacy tutors, classroom teachers and principal.

Strong bilingual skills (English and Spanish) preferred.

Teaching Schedule:

Thursdays (9:00 – 4:00)
